Privacy Policy

The COMPUEXCEL web site permits Users to obtain access to information about COMPUEXCEL and its products and services. In providing this access, Compuexcel Consulting & Software Inc. (hereafter “COMPUEXCEL”) recognizes the principles of privacy of personal information and is committed to protecting such information entrusted to us through this site.

This Privacy Policy will inform you on how we gather information on our website, how we manage and safeguard this information, to whom and under what circumstances we distribute this information. Please note that this Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time by COMPUEXCEL without further notice.

Collection of Personal Information

Personal information will be required when visiting certain pages on this Web Site. Such information may include your name, your company name, your email address, and other personally identifying information. Such requests are normally made in connection with such activities as registration and requesting further information. While all of the information is voluntary, some is mandatory for access to certain areas of the Web Site. If you do not wish to disclose your personal information, you may not be able to access such restricted areas.

Use of Personal Information

There are three ways in which information about you can be gathered when you use the COMPUEXCEL web site:

  • When you visit the web site, our web server identifies the IP address of your computer and resolves it into a domain name (a domain name is a computer address by which one computer communicates with the other).
  • Through the use of programming scripts, we collect information about the type of browser, operating system and system configuration that you use.
  • In order to obtain access to portions of our web site (to purchase online courses, to enter a contest, etc.) we may ask you to complete a registration form that identifies personal information about you or solicits your comments.

We refer to all of this information as “Personal Information”.

COMPUEXCEL does not sell Personal Information gathered on this website to Third Parties. We may, however, use such information to assist our company’s marketing initiatives, such as promotional offers, direct mailers, etc. If you order a web-based product such as online learning, the information gathered is used to register your license rights. This personal information will also allow COMPUEXCEL to provide any technical software support and other related benefits that may be available for registered users.

We may also, in certain cases, share this information with our Partners to ensure that we provide optimum service to our customers.

Use of Cookies

This Web site uses “cookies”. A cookie is a small amount of data that is transmitted to your browser by a Web server and can only be read by the server that gave it to you. The cookie does not identify you personally and you can remain anonymous unless you have otherwise provided COMPUEXCEL with any personal information.

The cookies that we use in normal operation are temporary cookies which are destroyed as soon as you leave our site. However if you tell us to ‘remember you’ then we place a permanent cookie containing an alphanumeric code that only our site can understand in your computer to let us log you in automatically the next time you visit our site.

If you do not wish to receive any cookies, you can set your browser to not accept cookies or to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you a chance to decide whether or not to accept it.

If you use our e-learning products which are programmed using Macromedia Flash, we also place a “cookie” known as a shared local object, on your local hard drive. This is used to remember information such as the lessons you may have completed and other course related information specific to you. This “cookie” is not destroyed and remains on your computer even after you logout from our site so that we can recover this information when you return to the e-learning course on our site. This “cookie” cannot be turned off. Deleting this from your computer will result in the inability for us to place a checkmark next to the lessons you have completed and loss of other such book marking information.
